This weekend is setting up to be something special. The weather is going to be perfect. The Solunar Tables indicate that Saturday is the prime fishing day for the month. Water temp is going to hit 60 degrees. And the fish are biting!!!

If you are scheduled to work, this is one time to call in with fishing fever. If you have chores to do, wait till another day

I was out Crappie fishing tonight and caught over 20 Crappie in about 1 1/2 hours. The males are up shallow and even the males are big. Kept 9 males, all over under 11 inches. Kept one female over 14″, The 10 Crappie weighed 6.4 lbs.

This weekend, when the female Crappie move in to spawn, I am predicting Shabbona Lake will see its first 10 Crappie/10 pound limit.
