Shabbona Lake Tree Drop

The Shabbona Lake Sportsman Club invites you to help with the Shabbona Lake Tree Drop. What is a Tree Drop? A Tree Drop is placing structure in the lake for the fish to hide in. A bunch of trees that have been cut to create habitat or structure for these fish to hide in. In addition, large rocks and boulders will also be placed into the lake on existing rock piles. All materials dropped in the lake will be placed on existing structures. This is an annual event normally held while there is ice on the lake. Due to unsafe ice, the Club was unable to host this event during the winter. So this Spring, we will be doing it by boat on March 31 starting at 8:30 AM. We need extra man-power for this “tree drop” event. Those interested in help should meet at the Lakeside Bait, Tackle and Boat Rental boat house. The public is encouraged to help. Thanks in advance for helping, maybe where YOU place the next rock or log is where YOU catch the next lake or state record.
