We are coming out of the April Cold snaps and it looks like we are moving to great weather for the beginning of May. The fish have proven that despite the cold windy conditions of April, that this could be one of Shabbona Lake’s best years. In April with just a few fishermen braving the elements, lots of really nice catches have occurred.

So, with the warmer weather, will come better fishing conditions and this has the potential to produce several great fishing days for all of us to enjoy. The lake is full of hungry, aggressive fish. I predict that the 2012 fishing season will go down as one of the best ever.
