Got out today and started off bassin’ again..50º at the launch at 0800….things were calm to start….a little chilly …but calm….as the winds started to build ,we changed to crappie and did pretty good despite the growing winds…we tried a few newer areas created by the SLSC and it payed off….the males are showing the colors of spawn,but they’re not real shallow yet….a few days of sun are needed…the water has a weird color in areas but the over all clarity is good…can’t wait for some weeds to emerge..we did best with the ol’ standard of slipbobber and minnow…tried some finesse plastic below a pegged float..I think it’s a little cold for that pattern yet… even casted bettlespins and tubes…just can’t slow the retrieve enough…when you have a guy catching 3-4 fish to one over the other guy it’s hard to argue with that kind of success….over 40 boated with a 30 limit making the cut…fresh crappie and playoff hockey…YEAH BABY
