Friends Meeting Tuesday, 7 PM

Friends of Shabbona Lake State Park,

Hope to see all of you at the upcoming Friends Meeting on Tuesday!

New Park Superintendent Joseph Lenkaitis will be there to meet you!

See what exciting projects Friends of Shabbona Lake has been doing for the Park. Please volunteer, if you can help on any or all of these impressive projects.

Help make a difference!

1. Entry Signs Beautification – Friends will be constructing flower beds this Fall to be filled with flowers next Spring.

2. Repair Boat Launch – One of the two main ramps has a serious pot hole. The State Of Illinois has no funds to repair it. Frankie Benson wrote a successful grant application to the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance for repairing the ramp. We will be voting to match the funds to fix the ramp.at this meeting.

3. Spillway Fence Repair – Thanks to Friend’s members, the Muskie Clubs and Shabbona Lake Sportsman Club, funds have been raised to repair the Spillway Barrier Fence by replacing the old posts with I-Beam posts, thus insuring the recapture of Muskie that go over the Spillway during high water periods. This will also be done this fall.

Join us on Tuesday, October 20th at the Resource Bank Schoolhouse in Shabbona at 7:00 PM as we discuss the wonderful projects and the many other ideas on the Table.

Bring your ideas also; we are looking for more things to help your Shabbona Lake State Park!

The agenda has been posted at http://friendsofshabbonalake.com/upcoming-meetings-and-agendas.
